Wilhelm Commercial Builders is a general contractor specializing in interior tenant office
construction and was founded in 1991 by Wayne Wilhelm, the President, with offices headquartered in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. Prior to founding
the company, Wayne worked within the industry for 15 years with other general contracting firms.
The professional staff at Wilhelm Commercial Builders is over 120 strong, most of whom joined the team through industry contacts and previous working relationships. All of our employees are experienced, skilled, detail-oriented men and women ready, willing and able to perform their duties in a respectable and professional manner. Over 60% of our work is handled with our own in-house staff which gives us a competitive edge in our pricing, better control over projects and the highest quality in our work. Our in-house capabilities include construction management, supervision, general labor, millwork, general carpentry, finish carpentry, drywall, ceilings, painting and specialty installation.
In the past decade, Wilhelm has partnered with developers and architects to develop project budgets and scheduling to assist in the marketing of new properties. We have on-going working relationships with the architectural and design industry to assist them in developing their visions into realities for their clients, while maintaining a gatekeeper role for the client and value engineering the design features when requested. We negotiate contracts with supply vendors and have aligned ourselves with the most qualified subcontractor businesses that perform at our level of customer satisfaction. Because of these relationships, we can quickly develop a project budget and mobilize a team to accomplish a build-out quickly, effectively and efficiently.
Our team of estimators and project managers utilize the latest techniques in the industry for planning, scheduling, and administration of our projects. The sophistication of our self-developed computer programs provides our project managers and superintendents with accurate up-to-date information regarding material deliveries and scheduling of subcontractors. When an unforeseen condition arises, both the project manager and superintendent can evaluate the condition, review alternatives and provide solutions for the client immediately. Our automated scheduling program extends past the general contractor and subcontractor duties. It is designed to include the entire team - the owner, tenants, architects and others critically responsible in completing the project.
